Ladies Library Club

In 1905,  the Ladies Library Club formed and began Yukon's library. They served as the sole financial support for the library until 1979 when the City of Yukon assumed responsibility. Today the group continues to meet on a monthly basis, assists the Friends group with an annual book sale, and hosts a Christmas auction each year.

The Purpose of the Ladies Library Club is service to the Mabel C. Fry Public Library in Yukon. The Purpose is also for the personal enrichment and enjoyment of the members.

The Library Club holds an annual auction, which is their major fund raiser for the year. They also sponsor the annual Scholastic Book Sale, an annual paperback book sale and other small fund raisers

The Library Club purchases items requested by the Librarian that are not covered in their annual budget. One of the Club's annual projects is preparing the Yukon Review for binding. Over the years, the club has purchased such items as computers, printers, shelves, flooring and other items needed by the Library.

The Library Club meets the second Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m. at the Library. We welcome all visitors and new members. If you are interested in being contacted about one of our meetings please contact current club President Clarice Glass at 405-350-6575.
