Yukon’s Rock the Route Returns, Headlined by Shane Smith and The Saints

The Thursday night before Labor Day, right where the Mother Road runs through Yukon, you’ll find thousands of fans at Rock the Route! This fan-favorite festival returns for another year, featuring Shane Smith and The Saints.

Presented by YNB, Rock the Route is Yukon’s popular free concert event. Celebrate the Mother Road with great quality music, food trucks, and plenty of fun activities for all ages in downtown Yukon. Whether you’re a die-hard red dirt or country music fan or just looking for a fun night out with friends or family, Rock the Route brings something for everyone.

A native of Terrell, Texas, Shane Smith made music a full-time pursuit after moving to Austin. A passionate musician and songwriter, Shane soon connected with Bennett Brown, along with other musicians many of whom now make up The Saints. That group includes Bennett on fiddle, Dustin Schaefer on lead guitar, Chase Satterwhite on bass, and Zach Stover on drums.

With a reputation as a high-energy live act with stunning four-part harmonies, Smith follows in the footsteps of such Lone Star songsmiths as Chris Stapleton, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Hayes Carll, and Ryan Bingham. Their first album, Coast, was released in 2013, and two years later came Geronimo, followed by Hail Mary in 2019.

“I don’t like just throwing stuff out there. If I’m going to be singing about something every night, I try to make it personal, make it something I can really relate to,” says Smith, the band’s lyricist and primary songwriter. “I like to sing with conviction, an honest conviction.”

It’s with this passion, timing and intention that Shane offers up his newest studio recordings, “Hummingbird" & "Fire In the Ocean". You may have heard about Shane Smith & The Saints from a friend who saw their amazing live show, or from a playlist on your favorite streaming service. Perhaps you heard the cast of Yellowstone shout them out in Season Four or saw the band play live on the Season Five premiere.

Taking the stage before Shane Smith and the Saints will be Special Guest Gannon Fremin & CCREV and Opener Adara Kay.

At seven years together, Gannon Fremin & CCREV have gone from the new kids on the red dirt block into a rockin’ powerhouse that encompasses the grit of Southwest Oklahoma with the independent and rowdy spirit that sets Okies apart from most folks.

It's something that’s been noticed as they’ve hit bigger stages, selling out legendary Grady’s 66 and opening for Kody West, Austin Meade, Read Southall, No Justice, Dylan Wheeler and Giovannie & The Hired Guns. It won’t be long until they’re headlining those same stages.

Born and raised in southern Oklahoma, Adara Kay found her grit and rock energy the first time she stepped on stage in 2018. Since then, she has perfected a high energy performance that watchers will remember down the road. She's been able to not only share the stage with other independent artists, but she's also been able to introduce new songwriters from other states into the Oklahoma music scene.
